Our last girl scout activity...Winco...Food Bank...McDonalds for Ice Cream and the Dollar Store!

For our final girl scout project this year we took the girls to Winco and we purchased approx. $300 worth of groceries with our remaining troop funds from our fundraisers. Following our shopping spree we then headed to a food bank where we donated all of the groceries. The girls were able to help sort the food items and then place the items on the shelves. This was a fantastic learning experience for all of the girls as they were able to see the huge difference our donations made and to hear from the director the needs of different families. I know that this activity is one that my girls will remember for a long time. They were very touched and expressed great gratitude for all that we have and great compassion for the families that rely on this food bank monthly! Way to go girls!! (dad...you will chuckle at this...Nat mentioned that they could really use you at the food bank...the cans and the items were not organized nearly as perfectly as our pantry was last time you organized it...Nat told the lady that next time her grandpa was here he would probably be able to come and help them because his dad owned a grocery story when he was little and he knows how to work really good with food and toilet paper)
