Brother and Sister Kunze asked us weeks ago if we would like to share their garden with them this year. Walt then told the girls that he was saving a few special places for them and that as soon as Emilee felt good enough we could get the seeds in the dirt. Last Friday we FINALLY got to plant some seeds. The girls tried their hardest to be patient, knowing how much it meant to Emilee, but when I told them we might need to wait a few more days...that was it...so we did it last Friday. Emilee was a trooper, but crashed when we got home. The girls each picked a vegetable and planted their seeds as well as a tomato plant each. They thought it was wonderful!!! We then helped water all of the potatoes, spinach, raspberries, strawberries, etc....
Tanner was in heaven he had dirt and a shovel -he thought it was perfect....until he dug up a tomato plant and was slightly scolded...by 4 mothers! We had a great time and are excited to take pictures tomorrow of the growth...the girls are going to be slightly disappointed..Natalie and Emilee asked if the peas and carrots would be ready to eat tomorrow...they kind of forget the patience that comes with gardening. We are so grateful to the Kunze's. They are a special blessing in our life. The girls enjoying knitting with Alice, visiting with her, telling her stories, and they absolutely also adore Walt, they love his fun personality and they love helping him. We have been eating spinach fresh from the garden for the past week! It tastes so good!!! I am actually getting kind of addicted to it... the kids love it too!
