Tonight as we were doing our family scripture study "one" of the girls was reading (name not mentioned to protect the sweet girl).... she was trying to finish up and clearly not paying close attention...she said "griddle your lions" and kept on reading. As she finished I asked her what those verses meant to hear or what they were about...well, they were talking about lions, and Jesus....hmmmm....."why don't you read that last verse one more time." So she went back and started to reread what she read to us out loud.... yes, it was not "griddle your lions" it was "gird up your loins." We all laughed and laughed....and then discussed the importance of sounding out our words AND not trying to speed thru scripture study BUT to really pay attention....so go forth and "griddle your lions." The moments keep scripture study entertaining...who knows what we could read about tomorrow....

That had me laughing! Jason is the one in our house guilty of misreading the scriptures; some funny ones have happened. Darn it all if I can't remember any right now! Griddle your loins sounds like you are having a barbeque with pork!!!!
So funny, Whitnie once when giving a FHE lesson read " inflatabe baby Jesus" instead of "infant baby Jesus", we still laugh about it.
It sounds good to me. Maybe it tastes like chicken.
